Si Chuan Dou Hua

1st up was the Soup.... ok... it was suppose to be finely minced chicken breast meat mixed with egg so that it looks like toufu... it was very tasty! It was very home cook... but I doubt you can make chop the meat till so fine at home lo! @$6 per bowl

The Stir-fried French Bean with Minced Meat was very good... but abit too oily... @$16

If not for the $40 voucher, we would have to pay $100 for this dinner.... was it worth it? I guess the experience was good.. Charles had very good customer service, his words were peppered with feel good words... very GEMS :) Should have more of these ppl around! Overall... the food was good... ambience was cool... best was the service!

Cafe Vic - Carlton Hotel Singapore
The food was not bad.... they are having a mix of asian delights like Satay, Mee Siam, Poh Piah, Teh Tarik, alot of malay food, all the rendangs and assam!
The Char Kway Teow had very good "wok-hei". The rest was ok... presentation was good. Staff were super friendly! Not much crowd. Weekday I guess. Had my oyster! Was not so bad! At least quite fresh!

Samsui Chicken - Soup Restaurant

Ordered the Samsui Chicken, Pork Ribs Steam Rice and Chicken with Chinese Sausage.
The Samsui Chicken simply means steaming a plump chicken marinated in ginger. Shredded ginger would then be tossed in some stock and sesame oil and served as a dip. The cut up boneless pieces of chicken are dipped in the ginger sauce and (this is the best part), wrapped in lettuce and then chomped. They place the de-bones chicken around a huge round platter with a bowl of the ginger dip in the middle. A stack of nicely trimmed lettuce leaves accompanies it. You simply pick, dip, wrap and eat!

"The Magic of Chongqing pot" - Suntec City

What i find special is the little 'desserts' they served alongside the buffet dishes...supposed to relieve the ma la taste. Definitely worth a try! There was man tou with condense milk... super yummy! The 'ba bao' tea is good too. @$4 for free flow. The Eight Treasures Tea with its healing properties restores the body's yin yang balance after a spicy meal.

New York New York - CityLink
Latest culinary addition at City Link- New York New York. Always a queue without fail... after the meal... I wonder WHY?.....
The Fried Mushroom Cappuccino... it was really errr... foamy... didn't really like it... soup was rather salty!
Fried mushroom... yeah... I think I was feeling mushy that day... ordered another mushroom dish... comprising only 2 types of mushroom... Golden Mushroom and Shitake, I tot there were many types of mushrooms, why limit it to only 2 types? Rather expensive!
Looks kind of undercook isn't it? Sigh... disappointment... looks like it was just popped into the mircowave and put on high for 20 secs to melt the cheese before serving it... the food came out rather fast... kind of weird!
I think I can do this myself.... the meat ball was like any other meatballs... it was quite dry! Hardly any sauce at all... LOUSY!
Verdict: A no no... do not waste your time standing in the queue for this... though the decor is nice, the food really is lousy! I think you can get better food elsewhere!

Kuriya - Raffles City

The place to enjoy high quality food & good rice wine. Too bad we are not into sake. The menu offers a wide range of dishes prepared in various Japanese culinary styles, from grilled, steamed, hotpots, deep-fried to sushi and sashimi. With such extensive offerings combine with descriptions of the various dishes, browsing through the menu does take time. And really we did take a lot of time... actually reason being... the ala carte food were very ex and we dunno what to eat! Too expensive!!! So verdict.... Nice decor... expensive food... good company!
